What Is Respite Care?

Respite care supports you and your loved one on those occasions where you both need a break or a little extra support for a short period of time.  Whether you want to plan and book Respite in advance for a few days or weeks, or need a last- minute stay, PM Aged Care is here to support you.

When should I consider Respite Care?

As a carer of your loved one, there are occasions where you need a break or a little extra support for a short period of time, without the stress, worry, or guilt about how you will provide alternative care and support; for instance:

• When planning a trip away

• Attending to your own health issues

• You have a planned hospital stay

• You have a last-minute unplanned hospital stay

• You are considering PM Aged Care as a permanent residential care option and would like to try us out.

How Does Respite Care at PM Work?

When your loved one comes to stay with us, they are joining our community and get to experience all our activities and services just like our permanent residents from our hotel style accommodation, nutritious meals, laundry services, social outings and activities and pastoral care services.  You can view those services here, on our Residential Care section.
